How to Build a Smart Race Calendar for Indian Runners (Don't Race Randomly)
Most Indian runners race too often, too randomly, and burn out before their most important events. BharatRuns explains how to build a race calendar that peaks you at the right moment.

Why Most Indian Runners Race Wrong
India's running calendar has exploded — there are now dozens of races every weekend in major cities from October to March, and year-round in the hills. With this abundance comes a trap: doing too many races, never peaking for any of them, and arriving at your "A race" already fatigued from the previous six weekends.
The A / B / C Race Framework
A Race: Your single most important event of the season. Everything else is built around this. You rest, taper, and arrive 100% ready. Target: one or two per year.
B Races: Tune-up events that test your fitness and give you race experience. You run these well but don't taper aggressively. Target: three to four per year.
C Races: Fun runs, local events, or charity races where the goal is enjoyment and easy effort. You don't taper and don't race hard. Target: as many as you like.
How to Structure Your Indian Running Season
October–November (start of season): C races for fitness testing and fun. No pressure.
December–January (peak season): B races to test fitness, build confidence.
February–March (peak event): A race. Everything you've done points here.
April–June (hot season): Active recovery, trail running, cross-training. No racing.
July–September (monsoon): Trail runs and ultras if relevant to your goals. Otherwise, base building for next season.
One More Rule: Leave 3–4 Weeks Between Every B or A Race
Racing takes 7–10 days to recover from physically, and another week to return to full training quality. If you race every weekend, you're permanently in recovery mode and never building fitness.
